Vote Counters Needed for the 2026 Election
On Sunday, September 13, 2026, elections will be held for the parliament, regional councils, and municipal councils.
The County Administrative Board is the regional electoral authority and is responsible for the final counting of votes in the general election.
We are therefore looking for a total of 20 vote counters for the counting of votes.
Do you thrive in a structured environment, are used to working within given frameworks and rules, and have an interest in society? Are you also a meticulous person with a good sense of numbers? Then you will fit well in the role of an employee at the final vote counting for the 2026 election.
The organization is characterized by trust-based management and governance, as well as our values, which include efficiency and service, objectivity, legality, and respect for equal value.
Job Responsibilities
The job responsibilities include being responsible for vote counting, reviewing, assessing, and sorting ballots. The tasks are performed under some time pressure and can at times be monotonous.
The work takes place between 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM, including overtime, on all weekdays from September 14 until September 25, 2026.
You will also participate in a mandatory training session that will be held on September 11, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
Qualifications
You must be at least 18 years old and have an interest in and understanding of the democratic process. As a person, you are responsible, meticulous, and socially interested. You are methodical and structured with a good ability to follow given instructions and collaborate well with others. You have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. We place great importance on personal suitability.
Previous experience of similar tasks in connection with election work is an advantage for the position. Security interviews will be conducted prior to any employment.
You should attach a personal letter of a maximum of one A4 page and a CV relevant to the role of vote counter.
Conditions
A requirement is that you or a relative do not stand as a candidate for a party in this year's election, as you would then be considered biased if you simultaneously run for parliament, regional, or municipal councils.
